Why can't I reply on Nextdoor? ›

Note: You can only directly reply to someone if they are already a participant in the discussion. You cannot tag a neighbor into a discussion if that neighbor has not yet joined the discussion by posting a reply.

To view the comments on a discussion tap in the bottom right corner of the post.

Tap your profile picture in the top left corner. Tap View profile. Scroll down to Posts to view things you've posted. Tap the blue text that says "All activity" to see more activity like reactions and likes.

Nextdoor may disable accounts if they are found to be in violation of our Community Guidelines or Member Agreement. Some behaviours that may result in your account being disabled include: Unsolicited business promotion. Using a fake name or address.

In America, Nextdoor has been accused of racial profiling and creating an atmosphere, as one mayor put it, of “paranoid hysteria”. In a country where black males have been shot for entering white neighbourhoods, such accusations are not to be dismissed.

Issues sending new messages or replying? Log out and log back in or update to the most recent version of the Nextdoor app to resolve the issue. To use Nextdoor's new messaging feature on our apps, you must have Nextdoor iOS version 6.66. 10 or higher or Nextdoor Android version 4.75.

Comments can be deleted for two reasons:

Either the comment author deletes their own comment. Or the comment was reported and removed by Leads.

When content has been reported by a member and Nextdoor's automated systems determine that the content is likely to be removed by moderators, these comments may be “filtered”. This means that by default these comments won't appear to neighbours viewing the discussion.

As always, neighbours can report comments that violate the community guidelines. To help ensure discussions on public service posts remain civil and productive, comment threads will automatically close when too many comments on the post are reported.

Who can see post insights? Currently, only the author of a post will be able to see the views for that post.

Using a fake name or address. Abusive or unneighborly messages. Discrimination or hate speech. Fraudulent activity or spam.

Neighbors will never be notified or see that they have been blocked. When they do try to send a message, the message will not be received by you, even though it will show that it is sent on their side.
