Valentine’s Day is just a few days away. Can you believe that?! Valentine’s Day is about love and there’s more to love than just romantic love. This year let your friends know just how much they mean to you by getting them a Valentine’s (Galentine’s) Day gift. Today I’m sharing a friend’s gift idea, along with my free printable gift tags and several gift packaging options that will take a gift from “Aw, thank you.” to “Aww, this is adorable! I love it! Thank you!” before they even open the box!
A great “Galentine’s” gift for your BFF will allow her to indulge in a little self-care. My free printable gift tag that says, “You’re the bomb,” and the adorable gift boxes that I’m sharing with you are perfect for a bath bomb or some decadent lip balm. EOS lip balm is bomb shaped, but any brand will work due to a play on the words “bomb” and “balm.” My absolute favorite lip balm is Vaseline Lip Therapy in Pink Bubbly. It smells like strawberry with a hint of wine, and it is the most amazing chap stick! It’s not greasy or thick, and it will erase your peeling, cracked lips in under a week (and I mean really, really dry and peeling).
Friend’s Valentine’s Day Gift Supplies:
- cardstock (for gift box) or a gift bag
- ribbon- I used 1/4″ cream ribbon & 1/8″ black ribbon.
- free printable gift tag
- bath bomb
- scissors
- hot glue or glue stick
- tissue paper (You can use tissue paper alone for packaging if you don’t have a gift bag and don’t want to make a gift box.

First download the free gift tags to go on the Galentine’s Day gift for your friends. The original image is created for 8.5×11 paper, and there are six 3″ tags on the page, which is smaller than the Valentine’s teacher’s gift tags that I shared last week. Check your print settings before printing. This will keep you from wasting ink. When you download the image, it will not download with my logo overlaid. I place it on the image preview to keep people from downloading it straight from Google.

For more than just your friends!
These are adorable and perfect to give to your daughter or daughters-in-law and for your co-workers. They’ll be great for teen and tween girls to give to their friends as well! If you’d like a file with only one tag on the page to save your ink, or if you’d like to see other colors, leave me a comment and I’d be happy to see what I can do. I do have a file already with just one tag, so it’s no problem to upload if anyone needs of it. Cut Gift Tags
When I cut my Valentine’s Day teacher gift tags, I used my Cricut’s “print then cut” feature. I didn’t do that this time because the machine doesn’t like me. The stupid thing never cuts along the lines, so I went “old school” and used scissors like a normal human being lol. Check out the teacher’s gift post to get the link to the SVG uploaded to Design Space.
To attach the gift tag to the gift, you need to punch a hole in the top center of the tag. This time I accidentally punched the hole through the “re,” but I went with it to save ink and paper. Times are tough lol! If you don’t have a hole punch, you can use a utility knife to make a little cut for the ribbon instead.
Cut & Assemble Gift Box or Prepare Gift Bag
I cut a gift box using my Cricut and Valentine’s Day print cardstock. This is a great option if you have a cutting machine and cardstock on hand. Since a bath bomb is so small, I did this rather than using a gift bag or cellophane. I have the Cricut Access Subscription, so I cut a plain gift box that is included in the subscription. Here is the link to the gift box I used.
If you don’t have a Cricut but want to make a gift box, there are box templates online that you can print then cut, like this gift box. There are plenty of free templates online if that one doesn’t suit your needs.
The Cricut box I used came with a top and a bottom as well as a separate lid, which made no sense. If you assemble it as-is, your friend will take the lid off the gift then have other flaps to open. I made it simpler by cutting the extra flaps off. The first picture below is how and which parts you should cut off of the box prior to folding and gluing it together. The other pictures are how to fold and glue the box. If you need more detailed instructions, Cricut Design Space has the full tutorial.
Next fold and glue the lid together.

Package the Gift
Place a piece of tissue paper in the gift box or bag to cushion the Valentine’s Day gift for your friends. If you need to, you can cut the paper in half.
Add the bath bomb to the box, fluffing the tissue paper around it to make it look pretty. Then put the lid on the box.
Place the gift box on top of the ribbon and wrap it around the box.
Feed the ribbon through the hole you punched in the gift tag and push it down to the top of the box.
Tie a bow on top of the box and trim off the excess ribbon.
Another Option for Packaging Your Valentine’s Day Gift for Friends
If you don’t have cellophane and don’t want to make a small gift box, you can wrap the Valentine’s Day gift in tissue paper. Open a sheet of tissue paper completely, fold it in half length-wise, then lay the bath bomb in the center.
Bring the top and bottom together over the bath bomb.
Grab the right side and bring it up to the center, then repeat on the left side. The tissue paper will now be wrapped around the bath bomb in a cute little package.
Feed the ribbon through the gift tag and wrap it around the tissue paper above the bath bomb. Tie a bow in the ribbon to complete the packaging. Trim excess the ribbon off. If you don’t like how tall this packaging is, you can cut the tissue paper down a bit before wrapping.
Your friends Valentine’s Day gift is ready to deliver!
