With food and gas prices creeping up and up and up lately, I for one no longer have room in my budget for expensive (heck, even for reasonably priced) decor pieces. Since I figure most of us are in the same boat this year, I rounded up the best and prettiest 24 cheap DIY Easter decorations that I could find for us all to reference!

I always tell myself that I’m going to be soooo prepared for upcoming holidays and special occasions. Inevitably, they always sneak up on me and I have nothing done. lol
So we went to church on Ash Wednesday and it hit me all of a sudden, only 40 days to prepare for Easter and write some meaningful or helpful blog posts!
I think it might be time for me to give up on my dream of being super prepared.
But thankfully, since all of these cheap DIY Easter decorations can be made with supplies you have on hand or can easily get from your local Dollar Store, they also qualify as excellent last minute Easter craft ideas!
So it’s not the end of the world that I didn’t manage to publish this Easter post weeks ago like all the other bloggers did with their Easter posts. 😛
How do You Decorate for Easter on a Budget?
Get creative and don’t limit yourself! There are so many beautiful projects you can make with inexpensive items.
Challenge yourself to only shop around your own home and repurpose items you already have.
Old vases, jars or tea cups can be painted, wrapped in ribbon and reused as candle holders, vessels for treats or flowers or fashioned into centrepieces.
Old clothing can be upcycled into garlands, egg hunting bags, gnomes and embroidery hoop art.
Scrap building materials can be turned into fun outdoor Easter decor.
Use flowers, branches and moss from your yard or surrounding area to make focal points on shelves or mantles or vanities.
There are so many fun and cheap DIY Easter decorations that you can make. And the ideas that I’ve rounded up in this post may be inexpensive to make, but they certainly don’t look it! You don’t need to sacrifice on style and taste just because you’re on a budget.
1. Eggshell Succulent Garden
This is such a sweet rustic farmhouse type of centerpiece and very inexpensive to pull off. If you happen to live in a place where there are small flowers already in bloom by Easter you could use those instead to make this project even more affordable! Or make these a week or two ahead of Easter and plant a few seeds in each one so you have new tiny seedlings at Easter! I’m pretty sure that’s symbolic in some way too. :). Otherwise,I’ve seen lots of tiny faux succulents and flowers at places like Michael’s or the Dollar Store.
2. Hula Hoop Spring Wreath
This is a gorgeous and simple large wreath design that you could pull off with supplies from the Dollar Store. I’ve seen word cut-outs like these at my local craft store, Dollar Store and Michael’s. Or you can make your own with a couple layers of cardboard.
3. Bunny Crossing Sign
You can make this sign with scrap wood and leftover paint. Plus there’s a super easy tutorial on how to transfer the lettering that I never knew before and my mind is blown!
4. Tulip Teacups
There’s no tutorial for these but they are a very simple idea for inexpensive Easter table decor. I always spot the cutest tea cups at my local thrift store for only a few dollars, and they would be great for filling with flowers for a pretty tablescape. If Spring flowers are in bloom you could use those, or pick up a large bouquet of tulips from the store or even make some flowers out of paper or felt!
5. Paint Stick Basket
Try asking for a couple extra paint sticks every time you purchase paint (or walk past the paint department) so you can eventually collect enough of them to make this gorgeous basket! Put mason jars filled with flowers in it, or branches to create an Easter tree to hang decorations on!
6. DIY Easter Basket
Learn how to sew some delightful Easter baskets for your kiddos (or you!) to tote around while hunting for eggs.

7. Tiny Felt Bunny
This little felt rabbit is my design, and it’s a free pattern download! These would be adorable tucked into Easter baskets for a non-sugary treat!
8. Floral Rabbit Embroidery
Another one of my free designs, there’s a matching fox embroidery too! Upcycle a tired shirt or dress as the background fabric so you don’t have to purchase anything new.

9. Bunny Coasters
A quick and easy DIY sewing project for Easter, adorable bunny coasters! There are lots of shops on Etsy that have adorable bunny printed fabrics to choose from. The great thing about small projects like these coasters is that they are a fantastic way to use up fabric scraps, or to make a small piece of fabric go a long way if you have to purchase new.

10. Easter Bunny Mason Jars
These would be perfect for gifting, and I’ve definitely seen jars and ribbons like these at the Dollar Store.
11. Easter Bunny Gnomes

12. Bunny Butt Wreath
You can easily make this project with Dollar store supplies, and no one would suspect!
13. Shredded Paper Easter Egg Nest
This is a beautiful Easter centrepiece idea. Use recycled paper from brown bags or even books you’re ready to retire. Display the nests on cake or cupcake stands!

14. Egg & Bird Wreath
There’s no tutorial with this one, but you could use the speckled eggs you learned how to make for the nest above, add them to a gravevine wreath with some faux Dollar Store flowers and a few adorable felt birds like my bluebird or chickadee! 😀
Easy Last Minute DIY Easter Decorations
There’s nothing quite like the last minute for getting things done! But these cheap DIY Easter decorations won’t look like you rushed them because they are so darn cute!
15. Paint Chip Garland
This is a SUPER cheap DIY Easter decoration, lol, but I love it! You can make a lovely ombre design or go full rainbow. And you could easily make a rabbit shape instead of eggs if you wanted.
16. Repurposed Easter Cross
Don’t overlook those spindles or pieces of wood that tend to make an appearance on big garbage day! If you don’t have any scrap building materials of your own, your neighbours might!
17. Cupcake Wrapper Votive Decor
Another inexpensive and adorable way to decorate your Easter table, with votives surrounded by rings of paper flowers made with floral cupcake wrappers. I think it’s so clever!
18. Eggshell Candles
How cute are these displayed in little egg cups?! You could even be saving leftover wax from other candles throughout the year to remelt into these eggies at Easter. Then all you’d have to buy would be the wicks.
19. Paper Eggs
These paper eggs are a sweet last minute Easter DIY because most people will have some sheets of paper and string in the house to use. You could even use scraps of wrapping paper or brown paper from Amazon orders that your kiddos can colour for you!
20. Crochet Carrot Garland
All that bunny decor really needs something carrot-y to compliment it.
21. No-Sew Rope Easter Basket
The rope is tinted with craft paint! I’ve never seen that before and I’m desperate to give it a try.

23. He Has Risen Banner
This banner is beautiful done up with sharpie as pictured, but it would also be a stunning embroidery.
